Subject: Suzuki Engine Tracker stalling

Question
My girlfriends tracker 88 (with a suzuki engine) seems to 'sputter' and stall every once in a while, and then not start for an hour or so.  It you feel it beginning to go, you can mat it and sometimes you can save it, other times you get no response whatsoever and it just dies.  Perhaps the fuel injection system?

Any idea?

Cheers,
Dave

Answer
That seems probable.  It could be a number of things.  At this level of inquiry, a service manual is a mandatory thing to acquire.  With that and a few tools, the diagnosis/repair moves from "I think/hope this is the problem" to a measured and tested certainty.
You really need to have the manual to be able to test all the associated systems in an orderly manner.
