Question I drove my suzuki the night before , drove it under the carport and next day went to crank it, will turn over but will not start and run unless you spray gas in it, will run as long as you do this. I have replaced the fuel pump in the tank,
nothing..I also do not get a gas reading on the dash panel guages on the gas but it reads the other guages . where is the fuel pump fuses located in this one? I really need help, I need to be able drive since gas is out of the roof at this time..
Help me if you can.
Answer First look in the owner's manual, it will tell where the fuse block is, and which fuse is for the pump. Second, after making sure the pump is powered, and there is actually fuel in the tank (a more positive means than looking at the gauge, like put in five gallons) The fact that the gauge doesn't read makes me suspect the connection at the tank may be corroded. (the fact that the pump uses connections in this immediate area is too big a coincidence to ignore). You need to find out if the pump actually has good power and ground WHEN CRANKING, and whether it is actually running. You MUST replace the fuel filter when replacing a bad pump, because the old filter could have been partially plugged, and may have been the proximal cause of pump failure. Let me know what you find, and we'll go from there.
