have a 1991 sidekick. Few years ago mine died as well. When I turned the key to start sounded like three or four relays( some under dash and some under hood started clicking like crazy. Electronics module was bad. Found repair place in texas to fix it for a fraction of new. They said that this module was in several makes and models and had a flaw and most would die within 5 years. Mine has ran fine since. Tried to find info on the repair people for you but my records and memory failed me.- good luck.
I think the module was mitsubishi.
