Experience Been a professional mechanic over 30 yrs I've owned and modified 2 Sidekicks, and 3 Samurais, one of which I still have, and ocasionally drive, when my kids let me.

Question I have a 1999 Suzuki Vitara 2WD, convertible top,two doors. I would like found a hardtop for it in a rasonable price. I checked in many websites but the prices are so high, the cheaper one starts in $785 without shipping. Also, I checked in auto salvages and SUV accessories shops but no luck, the hardtop is "hardtofind". I know your experience is more with the 4WD but any suggestions will be appreciate.
I can buy a use one, if is in good condition and a good price.

Answer Three years ago I bought an old rusty Samurai with a bad clutch and a few other problems for $750 to get a top and a donor vehicle for projects. If there are any easy ways, I have not found them. If you buy used, be very sure it is from the same years and models that include your vitara. the statement that "all years and models are the same" just isn't so.
