Question
David ,
My daughters Susuki vitara went dead on her on a trip from Orlando to Jacksonville Fl. engine turns over but will not restart. Battery has power, gas and oil are ok ! The car didn't over heat but service engine light came on just before it died It just won't start. is there anything that I can do? The car is a 2000 susuki vitara four cylinder 40,000 miles

Answer
Time to go back to the basics.  Does it have compression?  If so does it have spark?  Does it have fuel pressure?  Is the injection system actually delivering fuel?  Is the cam timing right(timing belt bad)?  One of the above is probably the start of the diagnostic sequence.  Just trace it down.
