Question
Hi Annelie!
Well, first let me preface by saying, I hope this IS Swedish and I'm not making a fool of myself! I came across the most interesting site the other day and this text you see below was there.. obviously, I'm very curious to find out what it means! I know it's a lot, so I don't mind if you just give me a brief synopsis of what it says! Thanks so much!
Ian

Answer
English Translation;

This, from the beginning traditional melody is also a popular dance. Shortly said it's a drinking enhancer that take place in the following place;
The oldest person in the company hold the hat when the music starts. When the singing begins the oldest person places the hat on the head of the drunkest person present (therfore the expression "drunken hat"). The chosen one/most drunk will proudly dance in the center of the crowd - happy to wear the hat. When "The hat is yours" is being sung is the whole company supposedto sing and at the same time point at the drunk. Naturally the person with the hat will sing "The hat is mine".

An old but successful moodraiser that never grows out of fashion! Remember - next time the hat might be on your head!

Good luck!

Hello Ian!
I hope this translation is sufficient and apologize at the same time for my poor English.
I hope that my answer still is of value to you, even if I have been tardy in my reply.
Best regards, Annelie
