Subject: pool losing water
Question Our pool is losing water at about 1-2" per day. We stopped filling it and it seems to have stopped at a level which is half way up side return jet, below the skimmer line. I noticed that there is a crack in the cover around the return jet. Could this be causing that much of a water loss? Also, we have found several holes in the lining that we have patched and I am assuming the patches are OK since the water is maintaining at that lower level
Answer The only way to be sure is to refill the pool a couple of inches... get yourself some leak detection dye... squirt some around any of the places that you think may be the cause. If it gets sucked in... you found your leak. You want to do this while the system is off.
Good luck,
Craig
