Question
I would like a light that I can leave on all night. I had it replaced yesterday, previous one lasted six weeks after been switched on about 3 nights a week, but this one has already blown and I have been told it is because it was on all night?

Answer
Assuming their is no leak, correct bulb and voltage is ok.Water keeps the bulb cool so water height is mandatory.Wipe off finger prints on bulbs after inserting.Bulbs should last a minimum of 30 days if left on continuous. You might check incoming voltage. Some bulbs are rated 120v.,130v. The higher voltage bulb will last longer. The newer type fixtures, LED especially will last longer.Do you tend to have voltage surges [lights dimming]This could be a possible line problem or erratic neutral connection.Lynn
