Question QUESTION: When backwashing our Hayward Sand Filter shuts off after backwashing about 1 min. Why is it doing this? Filter runs fine otherwise.

QUESTION: After it cools down it turns back on just fine.
Answer The themal overload is kicking out.Backwashing puts a greater strain on motor,does backwashing seem nornal,does some water exit to waste?what does the gauge read?After when rinsing is water exiting waste very strong?What does gauge read while pump is filtering?How old is motor?When did you last change sand?Lynn
