Question QUESTION: Our pool has 3 drains which are all fine and keeping a prime in the pump when on or shut off individually. While trying to vaccuum pool I put hose in skimmer, and shut off the flow from the other two drains. When all drains are open I'm still getting prime. When I shut off one drain, I get suction and prime. When I shut off the other drain I lose prime. Help?
ANSWER: If I understand you correctly you feed your pump with 3 bottom drains and the skimmer.Does filter run off the skimmer correctly with all drains closed?Open one at a time to find out which one is the problem one is.Lynn

QUESTION: Sorry...main drain and two skimmers. We've done what you said but can't pinpoint one trouble spot. It only loses prime when a combination of ANY two are closed at the same time.
Answer Evidently only one cannot supply enough water to pump. Why not shut off only the bottom drain while vacuuming.Do you not get enough suction that way?Did it ever work when shutting off 2 inlets?Have you went to a larger pump and motor which would require more inlet.Lynn If you have used it with 2 inlets off before and it just quit how long has it been doing this?I would for complete valve opening, cracked pipes sucking air.Lynn
