Question
we are new to this pool, we shocked it and all was well, just a little cloudy. this pool hasn't been opened in a few years..we were cleaning it and the filter stopped. it is a sand filter. it hums but it won't turn on? what can we do? thanks

Answer
Free the motor with a pair of channel locks at the shaft, see if it spins free, use WD40, at the open end of the motor their will be a centrifcal switch, you can spray these with WD40 open and close these tips gently, check for corosion on tips, file if neccesary.Try it again.
