Question I have shocked it with 20 gallons or more of shock and also the powder ultra shock the past two days. It is still green if you can believe it.A lady who was leaving the store told me you can use household bleach, it is the same stuff. Is this true. Anyway I need to figure out how to get my pool from green to blue. Step by step please. Thank you. Bron
Answer I don't believe its algae causing you problems.But when you do shock make sure water chemistry is correct if acidity is to high it tends to eat the shock.Also always shock after the sun goes down,same reason.Bleach can be used,be very careful of staining.What I think your problem is METAL.Have your water tested.Follow directions[chlorine needs to be near 0 for metal remover to work.Also use algaecide, preventive and if algae develops.Lynn If it is algae your pool walls will be slimmy.Let me know.
