Subject: hooking up pool hoses

Question
After winter our above ground pool really needs to be cleaned with the pool sweeper.  I cannot figure out how to hook up the hoses so that it sucks the residue out.  I have it on bypass to waste and hooked to the sweeper but it is pushing water into the pool instead of sucking it out. Can you tell me where my hoses need to be to use the sweeper to suck out?
Thank you so much.

Answer
After putting hose on sweeper head and putting it under water, bleed air with inlet jet.Put the hose on skimmer with the cap or directly in hole.Filter should be in filter mode or vac to waste mode.If this does not work your spider gasket or valve control could be faulty.Does the skimmer work good when your in normal filter mode with vacuum not used?It should have very strong suction in skimmer with good water flow into pool.Lynn
