Question
Hi, We have an apparent circulation problem, meaning: the circulation pump runs, but circulation gets weaker and weaker over the course of a day or so.
Once we stop the pump (and if only for a few seconds) and switch it back on the circulation seems to be fine.
We replaced the sand in the filter, but that did not seem to make a difference.
I can also not find any debris in the skimmer or pump basket. Do you have an idea what the problem could be?
PS: Pump is about 3 years old.
Thanks. Joe.

Answer
What does the pressure do when this happens? If their was a problem with a pump bearing their would be noise and heat at the motor end.Impeller slippage is possible. How often and how consistent is this?Does it help if you backwash for 2 minutes and rinse for 30 seconds?Lynn
