Subject: cloudy pool

Question
I have been dealing with a cloudy pool all season. We've yet to see the bottom of our pool. I've taken in water samples and adjusted chem. accordingly but it's still cloudy. I was told to shock, shock, shock the pool. How much is too much?

Answer
If water chemicals are OK and their seems to be a problem, I always try this.At sundown double shock the pool [use regular shock not the 20 minute swim kind]run the filter for 3 hours, put all vac equipment in shallow end of pool, shut off filter, vac in the morning.Use a coagulant and algaecide.Lynn
