Question
My Spa keeps tripping my GFI. It will not even start up. An electrician looked at it and said the wiring to is fine. He disconnected the ground at the spa and the spa powered up and continues to run. I know this is not safe, but what could be the cause of the breaker tripping? Is a 50 amp on #6 4 wire.

Answer
Does the GFI reset? It must or theirs a problem with the GFI.If it trips after it starts, and runs without the gfi, their is a ground or short[high resistance] probably due to moisture somewhere.Look for leaks in the cabinet, splices in or outside the spa. Lynn
