Subject: Vacuum Breaker

Question
I live in the town of Hempstead, NY before I bought my pool I wanted to do the right thing by having the proper permits.  I am trying to find out what is and where does a vacuum breaker go for an above ground pool.  I asked at 2 pool stores near me and they have no idea.  I called 2 plummer and they don't know anything about it.  Can you please advise.

Answer
Its what it says,it prevents unwanted vacuum. If you go on line and type in vacuum breaker theirs a picture and great explanation.Their could be but I have not heard of a problem with a spa or pool needing one.A vacuum could prevent the movement of water.Lynn
