Question
water level has risen above skimmer basket because of recent rain.  i have a jacuzzi filter w/cartridge and a hayward super primer pump.  how do i drain the excess water and clear the algae out

Answer
Do you have a 'vac to waste' valve selection? If not you'll need to get a pump or just use a short piece of hose 10 feet or so and siphon it out. To clear the algae double shock at dawn, run filter for approximately 4 hours, shut off filter, vac in the morning, add algaecide, put all vac equipment in shallow end of pool when you shock it.Use a flocculent if water is not clear the next day.Lynn
