QUESTION: I have to turn power off for at least 20 min before it will come back on. Only backwashing makes it shut off & when I'm doing this, it smells like something is hot. And only after about a minute.
Answer The overload [thermal] is shutting you off.Something is putting extra stress on the motor when backwashing. Are you sure theirs nothing plugged on your back wash hose or pipe.Is water flowing out at high speed?I can't think of anything else that would load the motor only at backwashing.Lynn
