Question QUESTION: Hello,
Hope you can help, I'm frustrated! My pool has been green for
months. I have followed all the advice from pool supply to no
avail. I even replaced the DE filter with a Sand because I was
told with an open pool it is better. STILL GREEN.After hundreds of dollars in chemicals and hours of brushing, filtering. What next ?
ANSWER: Test to see if its algae or metals in water. Is it slimy on sides of your pool?Lynn

QUESTION: Yes, it is algae. But nothing seems to clear it. Balanced PH,
shock treatment, add algaecide of all types as prescribed by
pool supply . Had water tested over and over.
Answer If your positive its not green from metals because shocking a pool with high metal content makes water blue/green.If PH is not high, 7.0-7.5 is ok.Double shock the pool at night, put all vac equipment in shallow end of pool.Turn filter off after 3-4 hours.Repeat if algae is not clear. In 30 years I never seen this not work.I repeat make sure color is NOT from metals,PH is not high,do not shock in sunlight do not use 20 minute or instant swim shock.Double shock, mix first then distribute in pool.Lynn
