Subject: pool pump and vacuuming
Question My questions is that I was wondering why my pump is so loud. All of the sudden, over the past few week, the pump has become increasingly noisy and now is very loud when on. Why is this happening and how do I fix it.
My other question is that I was wondering why dirt shows up only 24 hours or so in the middle of my pool after I vacuum. I thought that the pool would stay clean at least a few days. Am I doing something wrong?
Answer I would guess your motor bearing are going bad.Check for looseness at motor/pump area.Possible pump bearings.Take a hose or I have a stethoscope and see exactly where the noise is coming from.Which end of motor or pump.Dissasembly will be required. If pump is more than 4 years old I would change the motor. When you vacuum go SLOWLY as not to just move the dirt instead of vacuuming it up.Also make sure your water outlet to pool is forming a whirlpool around the perimeter of pool and not pushing floating debris toward center of pool.Filter needs to be in good working order, sand regenerated and rinsed properly.Keep all floating rafts etc. out of pool.Lynn
