Swimming Pool & Spa Construction & Maintenance - Pool level

Expert: Manish J.Joshi - 11/6/2009

Question
We seem to have a problem with the water level in our free standing above ground pool. When we winterized it and drained it down to just below the skimmer level--but the water level seems to have gone lower--suspect there may be a hole in the liner--but on inspection could not fine one. Can we leave the pool as it is with only about two feet of water in it until spring.

Answer
Sorry to counter question,Has the drop in level stopped ?
If that the case then the leakage is above the point where water has stopped leaking.
If water level is still falling then try to check the non pressure fittings especially the main drain if any
Since it could be reason for the leakage
As you are winterizing it should not be a problem with two feet water
