Swimming Pool & Spa Construction & Maintenance - tiger flex pipe

Expert: roger - 11/7/2009

Question
inground pool gunite. some tiger flex pipe is being used along the curving points and down under the pool to the 2 bottom drains i was told all the tiger pipe i could see would be incased in the concrete and the pipe under the pool at the 2bottom drains is below the insect line. is the tiger ok if incased and under insect line at 8 mabey 10 feet or should i have it removed before they spra the gunite.

Answer
All we use on new pools is tigerflex also known as flexible PVC pipe, not sure what insects have to do with it. Is this a rain forest pool with PVC termites? We never use hard pipe underground as the weight when settling could crack an elbow whereas flex has some give to it. Whenever we plumb the equipment with hard pipe we always add some flex to relieve stress on filter heads and heater unions or male adapters.Don't know is this the answer to your question.
