Swimming Pool & Spa Construction & Maintenance - 2 problems: Hose collasping and White tissue mold.

Expert: roger - 6/22/2009

Question
1: when we are vacuuming with our easy vac (kreapy krauly),
the hoses between the skimmer and pump want to collapse. We
have split the difference from the center drain and the
skimmer to relieve the pressure, but it still happens. It is
very frustrating.

2. We have had a pool for over 35 years, but this year we
have something called white tissue mold.  I just invested
$190 in chemicals and still fighting it. Chlorine is high. I
got in it to vacuum, due to not being about to reach
everywhere. 28 ft round - cartridge filter and heat pump
heater. I don't have anymore money to spend to clear it up.

Answer
Is this an inground pool? Is it the Kreepy hose collapsing? Is this black poly pipe with a section of black vinyl braided hose? And are you using the spring operated vacuum valve in the skimmer or direct connect. Have you used a strong algaecide and a new filter? You need to answer these question may as well give me the filter name and type and if you can a picture of the collapsing pipe. Thank you
