Question I opened my above ground pool about a month ago and it looked good. Over the last week or so it appeared to have a green tint to it at times. After treating it with algaecide and a high dose of shock the bottom of the pool immediately turned black. I have tried scrubbing with no luck. Scrubbing doesn't appear to do anything. The ladder into the pool is brown and won't scrub clean either. Two years ago I had a problem with algae coming up through the bottom of the liner and shocking it worked. I don't know if this is similar or something different. It's like the stain is now a part of the liner. Help!!
Answer No more algaecide run the pump 24/7 for a couple days and manually vac the pool do not stop the pump and backwash the filter once a day for a week. You should have added stain prevent so add some once a week. For the week we add liquid bleach or pool chlorine after sunset nothing else say half a jug. Let me know if this works.
