Question
I have two returns in my rectangular pool one in the shallower end one in the other end.  Inground pool.   I would like to know how they should point up or down both in the same directions so they whirlpool. Help not sure if they are right.

Answer
Point the one closest to the skimmer away from and down just enough to see a little ripple on top of the water and point the other one the same direction same way so they push water all way round the pool back to the skimmer. This pushes debris around to the skimmer so yes whirlpool them.
