Swimming Pool & Spa Construction & Maintenance - renovating a concrete/fiberglass pool

Expert: Manish J.Joshi - 6/25/2009

Question
I bought a house with an existing 18x36 rectangular concrete pool with the sides surfaced in fiberglass. The sides need to be resurfaced & I am interested in making some changes. I would like to add a jacuzzi spa in one corner of the shallow end & have the aligning corner made into a planter for a tree & ferns. As the walls have to be resurfaced anyway, can these additional interior walls be added, leaving the remainder of the pool as it is? I would also be repairing or replacing some of the pea gravel (?) coping, as it is needed. I am very curious about approximate cost! Thank you.

Elizabeth

Answer
First never keep tree and fern near the pool
Second You will have to construct the wall for Jacuzzi and also make in the structure
For spa 4 nozzeles per person, drain point, air regulator knob, air nozzles, pump at least 2hp, air blower would be required
Third the FRP to be done again It would depend on the thickness
Hence it depends on the expense you want to do
It can be fitted in your budget
