Question the jacuzzi works fine when bypassing heater ,but when i have to pass pool pump when off the jacuzzi empties ,also the return to jacuzzi works through pool side of three way valve which works heater,there is also a return from heater what can be wrong?????
Answer Your plumbing seems to have been done wrong. You have a skimmer, main and spa drain. The 3 way valve has 3 ports, a left, a right and a common port called inlet in the middle. Valve 1 inlet goes to front of pump, one of the two other ports must go to spa drain and the other port must go to then inlet port of 3 way number two whose other ports choose skimmer, main drain or both. 3 way one now choose between spa only or a combination of all 3. I am working towards a schematic if I have confused you. Without this setup it won't work right. Lets follow the output water flow. Pump top out to filter in to filter out to heater into heater out to 3 way three inlet. 3 way three chooses output to pool returns or spa or any combination full spa full return or any combination. By balancing in and out valves 1, 2 and three your spill over spa can work like a hot tub. Does this all make sense am I on the same page?
