Swimming Pool & Spa Construction & Maintenance/Pine Needles

I am having a problem with pine needles. My neighbors pine trees over hang our privacy fence and are continually littering my pool with needles and small pine cones. I am trying to vacuum them up, but my skimmer basket and hoses are becoming constantly plugged. It would take me a week to clean it with my vacuum. What is my best and fastest option for cleaning the bottom of my pool? I have looked into leaf rakes and leaf gulpers but I was unsure if these are going to be able to handle the needles.

Hi Heather,

Thanks for your question.

Aside from mysteriously having the tree fall down... the best & simplest product for removing leaves, needles & heavy debris is our Deluxe Leaf Vac. Scroll down about 1/2 way down the page. Here's the link:

Hooks up to a garden hose & works remarkably well.

All the best!
