Subject: train ticket cost

Question
I looked up sbb.ch to find and possibly book tickets for a train leaving Zurich
Airport and going to Gossau, St. Gallen.  I was told that Gossau, SG was not a
valid destination.  My sister, who lives in Switzerland,  told me to buy a ticket
to this location.  I can buy the ticket when I arrive, but I really would like to
know the price of a return ticket if it is available.  If not, then the price one
way will be helpful for my planning.I will be travelling to Switzerland this
August.
Thank you.
Marian

Answer
Hello Marian
Thank you for your question.

I live near St. Gallen and agree that Gossau is a valid destination.

There are many stops in Gossau possible, but they require transfer to the bus. If you only wish to go to the main train station that is of course possible. When you are on the sbb.ch site, and you write in Gossau SG it will give you the accurate connections.

It costs CHF 52. for a return ticket 2.class, from Zurich Main Station to Gossau Main Station, and the "fast" train (ICN)runs at 10 minutes after the hour.

I hope this helps and I wish you a good trip!

All the best - Judith
