About Marrissa O`Leary
Expertise
Happy to help with your questions about the business of television. I`ve been a TV Business Affairs, Talent and Comedy executive for over 10 years after starting out as a child actress. I`ve been a VP at two studios, and consulted for others. Because we get so many questions about reality shows, please take a look at the "Previously Answered Questions" first (you'll probably find what you need there!).

Experience
MBA, Pepperdine University / BA, Theatre Arts, Occidental College / AA Mass-Telecommunications Technology, Unites States International University

Question
I Produce a show that currently airs on over 300 community access stations across the united States and Canada self syndicated in less than 2 years. My show is original and the first of it's kind and we have 80 shows in the can. We would really like to switch to commercial television. Can you give me some advice on the approach.

Answer
Hi.

I would suggest you edit your material into a 5 minute and 15 minute trailer.

The annual NATPE convention is coming up soon (January), and I think it might be an excellent place for you to try and get to the people who can buy your program.    If you check the NATPE website, you may be able to review or purchase a directory and target people ahead of time.  They are also planning an even where you can pitch to program producers and distributors.

Hopefully, this will get you started.  Please write again if you have more questions.

Best,
Marrissa
