Subject: MITSUBISHI HD 1080
Question Hello, My Mitsubishi HD 1080 is about 5-6 years old, and has been working fine. Today when I tried to turn it on, the power switch would light up for 2 seconds, and then go off. I cannot power on the TV, either with power switch or the remote. The manual mentions nothing about this problem. Help! Thanks in advance...
Answer Power supply failures are not uncommon in sets of this vintage.
Repairs usually run around $300 - $400.
You will need a good tech who can troubleshoot the circuits by taking appropriate voltage measurements and zeroing in on the culprit as there are many, many parts within the power supply system.
Hope this helps.
