Subject: Mitsubishi VS-5072 TV

Question
This TV just stopped working. Nothing happens when you turn it on. I'm thinking fuse, but everyone I can find looks fine.

Answer
Make sure you are getting power to it.  Check the circuit breaker or put a lamp into the same power socket to verify it is "hot".

Make sure the power cord is not damaged at either end.

If you dare, remove the back cover and look for a fuse; they are usually near where the power cord enters into the "works".  Be sure to unplug the power cord for safety purposes.

If you are sure the set is getting power to the power supply, then it would seem the main power supply has failed.  If it is the power transformer - which would not allow any voltage to the various circuits including the lamps on the front panel - it will cost $300 to $400 for repair.

Hope this helps.  But, if you want a second opinion, which I recommend,  try allexpert allan wainwright who is an expert on Mitsubishi sets.
