Question
My tv won't turn on.  It was fine when I left for church about 2 hours ago. Now the button to turn on the set won't do anything. Is there a reset button on the back or something.  It used to click when I mashed the power button. Now there is nothing

Answer
First, never "smash" the button as it can cause damage to it.  If it does not work with a gentle operation of the button then something is wrong with it.

Let me assume you have checked the line cord and the power outlet and are certain the cord is connected properly and the house circuit breaker has not been tripped.

The reset on your tv is easiest done by unplugging the power cord for a total of 3 hours, then plugging it back in and powering it up.

If the reset does not bring it back to life it means there is a failure inside the set.  Most common - like 80 to 90% of the time - it is the main power supply.  Cost of repair is always around $200 to $300 depending on your model, its age and size.

Try that and let me know if you have further questions.
