Question
I'm wondering if my tv is going crazy or i need to buy a new remote because I've tried to program my universal remote to my tv but it won't work. But the remote works for other appliances. is my tv going on the fritz or what is wrong?

Answer
There is very little guarantee that any universal remote will work on any device.
I would personally suggest getting a different universal remote that would have the "learning" option so if you do not end up finding the right code for your make and modem you can program the new remote, having said that this is only possible in case you do have the original remote otherwise try a different brand of universal in case it works.
The Logitech universal remotes are updated online which gives them a very high success rate.
