Question
i'm, not receiving channels higher than 13 unless my vcr is on.

Answer
You must reset the antenna. Go into the menu and set antenna for either cable or air-antenna, which ever one you are using. Cable channels and over the air use the same frequency up to 13 but are different for the upper frequencies.

That should solve your problem.
