Question I have a model PT-53wx54J projection TV manufactured Nov. 2004. I still have a picture but the red tube/lens appears to have an issue. There are red streaks through the top part of the screen and if there are words scrolling across the bottom, the same words are scrolling in red only above the main words. I tried the "coveregence" option but the red is way to severely distorted. I'm trying to fix this myself.

Answer this is a bad convergence circuit. you need a repair a cost will range aroun d 400.00 for a repairman to fix this. if you can solder and use a meter?? then we can fix this. send me pictures of the boards in the tv and i will show you where to start. send to
