Question
I have an RCA P52738WK that is blurry and I am wondering if there are controls on the set to correct or does it need service.  If it needs service, what is an estimate for this type of problem?

Answer
When you say blurry it is hard for me to say for sure. There are three possibilities that cross my mind - and there may be others.

ONE:  The convergence is going bad. If so, it normally costs around $400 for the repair.

TWO:  The focus voltage or power supply is out of adjustment.  If so, a simple adjustment must be done by a technician and the cost is minimal unless the voltage feed has failed and the cost would be around $200 or more.

THREE:  If the contrast and or brilliance controls are set out of range that can cause the focus to go whacky.  This could be an adjustment that is made with the remote control thru the on-screen settings or maybe within the service mode (which you can enter into if you know how; you can learn how at www.fixyourowntv.com and click on service mode link on the left hand column).

Hope this helps.
