Question I have a Toshiba tv/vcr/dvd combo. If I burn a dvd on MS dvd maker, the player plays it. If I burn the disk using Roxio 9 the the dvd goes in and the menu pops up, but no matter how many times I push play the videos won't play. The music and the menu comes up, and it just loops. the same disc play in the machine when they are burned with MS DVD, but the sound is no good, so I know he machine eads the disks themselves. The Roxio DVDs I burn play in every other dvd player I can find except the Toshiba, which it the one it needs to play in.
Answer Yes, I know. Unfortunately, there is not universal compatibility among recorders, players and discs. They are getting better, but the combo units do not have the best reader/players in them as the manufacturer suspects the type of customer using these products is likely just playing rental dvds/movies on them. And, if the player in the combo is more than a couple of years old it is likely an obsolete design.

Why don't you purchase a newest class dvd player and see if that does not solve your problems? (You can plug the new player into the a/v inputs on the Toshiba combo).
