Question No picture on 3yr old Maxent MX 42 VM10. TV worked fine-now can hear sound but no picture-not even channel or volume display. When looking at the back of the unit, I can see a green light flashing inside. Any ideas???
Thanks in advance.
Answer The usual failure when the audio is still working is loss voltage to the video display drivers or a defective video driver board.
The cost of repair can be severe, depends on the failure point. If it is a power supply repair would be under $100 (if you lug it into a qualified shop) but much more if a new board is needed.
The flashing green light is probably a default on the video board; but it could be because of voltage loss as well as a defective board.
You should contact an authorized Maxent service facility and discuss it with them. If you have the extended warranty (which I recommend for all new technology receivers) it may be covered under that warranty policy.
Let me know if there is more discussion necessary.
