Question
PT-50LCX63 Panasonic TV
While in operation and working fine I heard the same "rrrrump" sounds as if the power was abruptly cut.
Could it be a dust build up in the beachie, dusty town in Maui? Red light goes to green but no workie.
Thank you.

Answer
No, dust and grime build up does not usually cause malfunctions - unless it is really severe.  Cleaning sometimes creates more problem than it solves.

This is an LCD projection set. Have you checked the bulb?  It is critical for proper functioning.

Do a reset and see if that restores it: Just unplug the power cord for at least one full hour; then power it up again.

If checking the lamp and the reset does not help, better get it back to Panasonic for testing. Hopefully it is still under warranty.  Panasonic is strong in Maui and they should provide you relief with this problem. It may be very expensive if the main video and display board is gone.  Tell them Cleggsan sent you there.  They will know.

I am fearing you have either power supply trouble or main board failure; both of which are expensive repairs.

Best regards.  Let me know if Panasonic doesn't come through for you.
