Question
Hello, I have an RCA projection TV (M/N P56812BL Chassis: PTK195AP) and recently the picture has a nasty bow in it, sides and top/botton and most things appear in triple - red, green and blue. I don't remember anything specific happening when it went into this mode. I found a piece of paper that tells me how to get into the software settings using my remote, but that doesn't seem to work.  I took off the back panel and can't see any fuses or anything that's out of place.  Any suggestions?

Answer
The convergence circuitry in your set has gone bad and needs repair. It is quite involved and expensive, sorry to say.  Cost of repair is around $300 to $400.

It is not something you can do yourself unless you are advanced in technical skills, have vom and soldering iron, and know how to remove ICs and replace them with new ones, solder them in and test it out.

If the set is over 5 years of age I would urge you to consider whether or not it is time for a new model......

Hope this helps,
C
