Question
When I turn this tv on it has a buzzing sound. Sometimes it is up to a minute. Once this goes away the picture and sound are fine. If I turn the set off and back on it does not do it. Once the set cools down it will buzz again. ??

Answer
It might be a vibration caused by the degaussing coil.  This coil comes on each time the set is turned on and it remains on for several seconds and then gradually shuts off - at least that is the way it is supposed to function.

Try this: If the buzzing sound is being caused from mechanical vibration of the coils or power transformers, which I think it is, just feel around the chassis with your hand or bang gently to see if you can feel it or if gentle banging alters the sound in any way.  If it turns out to be a mechanical vibration it can be used for a long time with no problem and you will just have to suffer the annoyance of the start vibration sounds.

If the buzz is from a power supply going bad you will have to repair it at some time in the future.  But, I would suggest you keep using it until it fails completely.  In fact, a 25 inch may not be worth the repair as it was new only about $200.  It may cost that much to get it repaired at a shop.

I like Sanyo and they are, on the average over a large number of sets, very reliable.

Hope this helps.
C
