Question
I cannot adjust the picutre brightness when i try to adjust it say the picture mode is locked go to manual but manual doesnt say anything about the picutre lock for the adjusting the picture  .. how can this be unlocked? The tv has a lot of purple in the right side of picture top is normals left side is normal but the right side of peoples bodies etc are purple what can cause this

Answer
There are two problems you have brought to my attention:

ONE:  The lock is explained in the manual. Do you have it?  On page 10 through 14 it gives clear instructions on how to set the operations and ICON navigations.  To lock and unlock you can double click on the lock menu it says.  If you don't have the excellent manual for your multi-national tv you can download it easily by just googling for it; there are a few sites that allow you to download it.

TWO:  The purple coloration - if it is a big glob rather than a precise outline around the purple area - is caused by magnetization.  The picture tube needs to be degaussed. It can be done in one of two ways.

1. If the degaussing coil in the set is working correctly the purple blob will go away over time. Each time the set is turned on the degaussing coil is energized and after several ON/OFF cycles it should gradually disappear.  That is if the magnetic field has been removed. This is usually caused by a speaker or subwoofer being too close to the tv.  Or anything that has a strong magnetic field.

2.  All tv shops have an external degaussing coil that will degauss your screen instantly.  They charge a nominal fee to do this. Biggest effort might be lugging the set into the shop.

Let me know if this doesn't give you the solutions you need.
