Question
I have a new magnavox model 32mf338b/27. After recording with my vcr, the playback is terrible. The picture stays still for a second and then jumps up and down. At first I just used the coaxial cable. Later I purchased the yellow white and red cables. I still have the same problem.
The vcr is good because it worked with the old tv.
Nobody has an answer. I was told there should be no problem.
I would appreciate it if you can help.

Thank you for your time.

Answer
You did not give me the make/model of the vcr.

Did you try the vcr in your old tv or another tv again to verify that nothing has happened to it in the interim?  You should do that.

The vertical synchronization seems to be failing. It can be due to the settings on either the tv or the vcr.  Try changing the tracking setting on the vcr.  It may be unable to keep the synchronization pulses good enough for the tv.

Then, also, go into the menu of the tv and see if there is a vertical or horizontal hold or sync adjustment that will help lock in the signal.

And if the vcr has component video output connections try them into the tv.

Let me know if you make no progress.
