Question
Our TV all of a sudden has a pink tint to it.  We have had the lamp replaced in 2004, but when it went out before it did not turn TV pink.  Any suggestions would be appreciated - hope not to have to buy new TV-

Thanks

Jeff Anderson

Answer
Can you adjust for it by going into the color controls and bringing it back to normal colors?  Have you tried it?

You can get more range on the color controls by going into the service mode (if you are brave).

www.fixyourowntv.com

The above is a site that down the left hand column has a link for finding the service code for Sony sets. With the remote you enter the right code and it puts you into the service mode for making many, many adjustments.  This mode is for service experts only, so you must be very brave and go slowly.

If the adjustments will not bring back the color to what is should be you may have to get service.....  and it could be expensive.

Hope this helps.

PS: Try banging on the set with your hand or fist; these kinds of problems are often caused by a loose connection or cold solder joint, too.
