Subject: GE 27GT722 Color Television

Question
GE Model 27GT722 blows fuse. Found Q14101 shorted and removed it.  Cannot make out part number on it, only DO6044 and the name Morocco.  It is a FET, but don't know what to replace it with.  I do not have a schematic diagram for this TV. Appears to be switching power supply.

Answer
Schematics are hard to come by for GE because you never know who made it.  They have them made by various manufacturers.  Could be Thompson, most likely, who makes all the RCA tvs.

If you have a voltmeter you can measure the voltage at the drain and replace it with a generic FET that has sufficient voltage and current ratings for the drain.

Have you tried partstore.com or other online suppliers?  They may have it listed, although I could not find it with a quick search.

There are lots of forum comments on this model with failures of every description including this Q14101 that causes the power supply to fail and blow fuses.  Sorry, to say.

Hope this helps.
