Question
I have a rca projection tv that used to cut off from time to time. You could just turn it back on and it would work fine. Now it won't power up at all.I have checked the power cord and found it to work fine.Any advise would be appriciated.I would like to keep this tv.Thanks....Tom

Answer
This is a famous problem for RCA RPTV sets.  They develop problems in the main power supply and over time it finally give out completely.

It can be other areas of the tv such as high voltage generator, horizontal or vertical deflection amplifiers or even the convergence systems, but it is most commonly the main power supply or one of the voltage regulators within the power supply system.

In most cases the repair is expensive and often more than is justifiable.   Typical repair costs for the power supply are $300 plus or minus.  Repair costs for the convergence circuits is always around  $400. Horizontal or vertical repairs usually run around $200.

I suggest you talk with an RCA authorized service outlet before deciding what to do.  Unfortunately, the RCA brand is not known for its reliability and will likely have another breakdown before too long if you do decide to repair it. My advice is if the set is over 6 years or so it may not be a good candidate for repairs.
