Question
Hi I recently moved house, including my large screen Sony TV and satellite set up. After setting up the system, and pressing the remote for the TV, the stand by light comes on and keeps flashing, but the TV does not turn on.

Answer
Unplug it; let the tv rest for at least 2 hours then plug the power cord back in and try it again.

If that does not solve the problem, go to:

http://www.iwaynet.net/~nesda/SonyBlink.html

and read through the diagnostic codes for a Sony tv.

If the standby lamp continues to blink continuously you will need technical service to find out what part of the Jungle Chip is defective. It is often not the chip or IC itself but some surrounding component that has failed or gone bad.

It almost always requires some testing and troubleshooting by a trained tech to determine which of the 200 to 300 parts around the Jungle chip are the culprit.

Let me know if you need more.
