Subject: can't see top and bottom of screen

Question
I have a 27" Magnavox TV model TP2782 C104, chassis 27R501OOBB. When watching baseball game, the scorebox at top of screen is only "half seen." Same way on local news channel when they scroll a "ticker" across bottom of screen. What is wrong and can I fix? I am an electrician with limited electronic experience.

Answer
Maybe the vertical size is set too big and the far top and far bottom of the screen is off scale.

There is a service mode that you may be able to get into for this adjustment.  I don't know the details of the entry code for Philips or Magnavox (they are the same) but you can find it at:

http://www.riddledtv.com/forums/philips-magnavox-service-menu-codes-plasma-lcd-c...

and follow their directions.  If you make any adjustment whatsoever be sure and write down exactly what you did because if you get it messed up it will become a very bad day for you.  You may have to fish around for the control that decreases the vertical size.  Maybe the horizontal size is off as well.

That is what I suggest for you to try.

Did this provide a solution for you?
